Washington Humane Society, Washington, DC - Will Host it's 25th Annual Bark Ball on June 2 - Tickets are Now on Sale!

The Washington Humane Society will host it's 25th Annual Bark Ball June on 2nd.

Washington’s original black tie gala for people and their canine companions celebrates it's silver anniversary benefiting thousands of DC animals in need

Tickets are now on sale for the 25th Annual Bark Ball benefiting the Washington Humane Society (WHS). The event will take place on June 2, 2012 at the Washington Hilton at 1919 Connecticut Avenue, NW.

The Bark Ball remains one of the largest fundraisers of the year for WHS with all proceeds going to support the critical programs and services that benefit thousands of homeless, lost and abused animals in the District of Columbia.

Since 1987, the Bark Ball has continued to draw many of the area’s most celebrated residents, including leading figures from the political, media, entertainment, sports and business worlds, and their four-legged friends, to honor those who protect and serve our region’s animals. The evening will entail a reception followed by an extensive silent and live auction, dinner, program, dancing and other special surprises in honor of this year’s special 25th anniversary. More than 600 human attendees and 400 dogs are expected to participate.

To celebrate this commemorative occasion, WHS has partnered with NOVADog magazine to host the first-ever Cover Dog Contest via the Washington Humane Society’s Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/WashHumane.  Canine lovers can upload a favorite photo of their dog for a chance to be featured on the cover of the Summer 2012 issue of NOVADog. The winning canine and his or her companion will win two tickets to the 25th Annual Bark Ball, where their cover art will be unveiled, as well as a prize pack from NOVADog. The contest will take place April 12 – May 3, 2012.

WHS provides comfort and care to nearly 30,000 animals each year through sheltering, adoption, humane law enforcement, spay and neuter services, humane education, human – animal rehabilitation programs and lost and found services, among other programs. As the open-access shelter in the nation’s capital, no call for help goes unanswered, and no animal is ever turned away. The WHS team responds to calls for help 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
