Here’s a sneak peak at Washington Animal Rescue League’s four contestants, including videos:
Buster
It’s Buster! Don’t tell Buster he’s disabled. This 13-month-old Dachshund mix may no longer have the use of his hind legs, but that doesn’t stop him from “running with the big dogs.” At the age of 6 months, Buster was rescued by a Good Samaritan after being hit by a car. Although the accident left him partially paralyzed, this darling little dog gets around wonderfully thanks to a special set of custom wheels. Buster is an exuberant, happy boy who obviously loves life! He enjoys meeting new people, playing fetch, and socializing with other dogs. Now he just needs a special home to call his own. Take a look at his video below!
Bella
Here’s Bella! Bella is a sweet, little, five lb. Chihuahua. At seven-years-old, Bella is one of those dogs who would be equally happy lounging and snoozing, or chasing around toys. She also has a great, special talent: she loves to dance! Bella is excited to waltz into a loving home, and become a cherished family member. Check this talented little girl out on this video…So You Think You Can Dance, here she comes! Take a look at her video below!
Hooch
Meet Hooch! Hooch is a very handsome boy who loves to play with his toys, have his ears rubbed and make his people happy! Although he’s big and strong, he loves nothing more than to cuddle with a new best friend. Hooch enjoys meeting as many people as possible, and he would love to be able to show off his good looks to a new forever family. Take a look at his video below!
Meet Max! Max is a one-year-old Cairn Terrier mix that loves his toys, especially the squeaky variety! With movie star good looks, intelligence and a penchant for cuddling, Max can’t wait to find his forever home. There’s no truth to the rumor that he’s headed to Hollywood for the next “Wizard of Oz” remake, so make sure you come out to meet Max! Take a look at his video below!
Best in Shelter is sponsored by best-selling mystery author and animal rights activist Martha Grimes, who was inspired to create the event after seeing animal rights commercials during one of the annual televised “Best in Show” dog shows. Grimes established “Best in Shelter” to bring public awareness to the plight of homeless dogs and help educate the public about the wonderful dogs in need of caring families who are available in area shelters.
